Ah, Tang! A delicious (to some people) breakfast drink high in vitamin C and calcium. Wait! Didn’t I just describe orange juice? Yup, I think I did. James loves this stuff, I think it is okay. Personally, if I’m going to drink something orange flavored I’d prefer it to be actual orange juice not whatever Tang is. But did you know Tang has other uses than just being a breakfast beverage?
A while ago I was researching how to clean a dishwasher when I saw an article that said you could use Tang to clean your dishwasher. All you had to do was sprinkle a cap-full in the bottom of the dishwasher and in the various cleaning compartments. Then run the empty dishwasher as usual.
Well, you know me any natural or DIY cleaner I run across I just have to try. Besides, my apartment dishwasher was looking pretty bad and I hoped this would clean it up a bit. You really can’t expect dishes to come out clean if you are washing them in a dirty dishwasher, now can you? I think that would be like trying to wash clothes in a pool of muddy water.
So I sprinkled an entire cap-full in the bottom of the dishwasher and half a cap-full in the cleaning compartments. I added extra because I really wanted to make sure it came out cleaner. Well, surprise! Surprise! It worked! The dishwasher was noticeably cleaner than before I used the Tang. It is not as clean as I want it to be but it is much better than where we started. I think after I give the dishwasher a very good cleaning I will use Tang every couple of weeks to keep it clean. Besides Tang is much cheaper than those dishwasher cleaners they sell and works just as well. Plus it smells much better!
Have you ever used Tang to clean your dishwasher? Or anything else? Tell me your experiences!
Have a blessed day!
