I haven’t posted about a homemade cleaner in a while. Sorry. Today, I thought I would share one of my personal favorites: homemade window and mirror cleaner.
Homemade Window and Mirror Cleaner is simply the easiest, cheapest, and best way to clean all your windows and mirrors.
Are you ready for this?
All you need is two VERY common household items.
I’m about to blow your mind. No, just kidding. But what I’m about to tell you will save you a bunch of money! Which is kinda on the same level, right? Anyway, I digress.
Okay so the two ingredients needed are…
Vinegar and newspaper
Yup! That’s it! Check out how easy they are to use below.
- White vinegar
- Spray bottle
- Pour vinegar into empty, clean spray bottle.
- Screw trigger nozzle on.
- Lightly spray window or mirror.
- Wipe clean with newspaper.
If you do not like the smell of vinegar, like my husband, you could add a few drops of essential oil to the spray bottle and shake to mix. Don’t forget to put the cap back before you shake unless you want to be essentially oiled! 😀 The vinegar smell dissipates very quickly so I only do this when James will be cleaning the mirrors. FYI James really likes the Orange Essential Oil mixed with the vinegar, which is great because oranges smell so fresh.
To avoid newsprint from rubbing off onto your hands use newspapers that are at least a week or two old. I keep a stack of newspapers under the sink just for cleaning with. I always put the newer newspapers on the bottom ,that way the top ones are the oldest.
I really love this homemade window and mirror cleaner. Since it is made with just vinegar I have no qualms with letting Cakey use it to clean with. She is getting pretty good at cleaning the sliding glass door with it!
I think vinegar and newspaper clean better than Windex and paper towels. Plus, vinegar is much cheaper than Windex! I consider the newspaper free because after I am done collecting the coupons I was just going to throw it away anyway.
What’s your favorite way to clean windows and mirrors?
Have a blessed day!
