My mom asked me to make a batch of my peanut butter cups for her to take to the work for Boss’ Day. Homemade peanut butter cups are so good but they can be time consuming. So I decided to try and figure out a way to make them quicker and easier.
As you can see from my recipe here putting a dollop of chocolate in the bottom of the mini muffin liners, a dollop of peanut butter, and then finishing up with some chocolate takes a bit of time. Since I had been doing a lot baking and cake decorating lately my dessert decorator was still on the kitchen table. I decided to try and use it for making the peanut butter cups.
I loaded the dessert decorator with the peanut butter filling and placed the melted chocolate in a zip top bag. I snipped one corner off the bag and carefully squeezed a little chocolate into each liner. Then I used the dessert decorator to place a dollop of peanut butter in each liner. Finally I covered the peanut butter with some more chocolate and viola I was done! It was so, so much simpler this way! I made 40 cups in less than half an hour and that included setting time!
I was super excited with how this turned out! It is going to make making these so much easier. I think I might need to get a second dessert decorator just to make things even easier next time.
