Having car problems is no fun. I’m sure we have all seen someone stranded on the side of the road. And, more than likely, we ourselves have been stranded on the side of the road.
We love to take family road trips. We go on a road trip practically every month even if it’s just a hundred miles away. Around here, my husband knows or has worked with most of the tow companies at one point or another because of his job. But what happens when our car breaks down when we are traveling? This is truly one of my biggest fears. We aren’t bad at wrangling the old Google search, but in a crisis who would we actually call? How would we know they were reliable? How long would we be stranded, waiting for someone to come rescue us?
As a mom of two littles, these are all questions that I need to know the answers for, especially when I’m stranded. Sure, there are automotive clubs that give you access to this nationwide, but more often than not I don’t use the service every month. So how do I meet these needs without spending money on a membership? Enter Urgent.ly, an app that gives me peace of mind knowing that wherever we may roam, we will always be able to find reliable help.
I’ve had my fair share of being the damsel in distress with the flat tire, and of course there was that one time last year when two toddlers who shall remain nameless locked me out of the car. But I always have my cell phone with me, and am especially sure to take it with me when I’m in the car. Thanks to the wonder of smartphone technology, I’m no longer as scared about getting stranded on the side of the road. I can use the Urgent.ly app to get help when I need it. The cool thing about Urgent.ly is that it’s an on-demand service. You only pay when you use it, so there are no membership fees. I also love that when you open the app up, you can see that there are providers near you and how close they are to you. After selecting your provider and picking your issue, you see in real time when help is arriving and you can even call the driver if you need too. It’s like Uber, except for tow trucks!
One of my favorite benefits from Urgent.ly is the FamilyView feature. FamilyView allows you to pay for your stranded family member and watch in real time as they get help. My girls are years away from driving but Urgent.ly gives me peace of mind knowing that if they get stranded, I can send them help. Or maybe by then it will be their robot car getting them help.
With the Urgent.ly app downloaded on my phone I have peace of mind knowing that we can road trip to our hearts content and still be able to get reliable help.
What gives you peace of mind on road trips?
Have a blessed day!
