Last month I posted about my new favorite homemade tile and tub cleaner. So this month I thought I’d try out a homemade daily shower spray. After consulting my friend with all the knowledge aka Google I found numerous recipes for it. Most of the recipes called for the same ingredients just at different amounts so I decided to average them out.
I just whipped this up two weeks ago and so far I have been very impressed with how well it works. There was one thing I did not care for with this shower spray. The next time the shower was used it was very slippery but this only happened the first few times I used the spray. I am wondering if maybe I didn’t shake it up enough? Or maybe it’s because my sprayer only does a stream and not a mist? I just acquired a sprayer that does both so I will try it again and see how it works.
- Spray bottle
- 20 drops of tea tree essential oil
- 3 tbsp dishwashing soap (you know Dawn or whatever)
- 1/2 cup vinegar (distilled white vinegar is what most recipes called for)
- warm tap water
Pour the vinegar into spray bottle. Then add the tea tree essential oil and dishwashing soap. Fill the rest of the bottle with warm tap water and shake to combine. Spray on shower after every use.
Tea tree oil is known for its antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal properties. I use it in my homemade disinfectant spray as well. You can purchase tea tree oil in most health food stores or online (which is where I ordered mine over a year ago).
Let me know how it works out for you!
Have a blessed day!
