I love this homemade disinfectant spray! There are only three (yes 3!) ingredients involved and it is so simple to make! It cleans really well and smells just wonderful!
Unlike some store bought cleaners, this homemade disinfectant spray is super versatile. I have used it primarily in my kitchen and dining room for over a year now but have also used it in the bathroom and on other hard surfaces in the house. I have used it on everything from highchairs and counter tops to the floors and walls. I also use it to clean the refrigerator and freezer. This cleaner has performed wonderfully on every task I have tried it on.
Update: Now that we are potty training I have been using this cleaner in the bathroom to clean the princess potty chair and toilet seat when needed.
- 2 cups of water
- 3 tbsp of liquid soap (or Dawn)
- 20 – 30 drops tea tree oil
- Pour all ingredients into spray bottle and shake to combine.
- Spray on counter tops and other kitchen surfaces to disinfect.
- I like to use Dawn because it cuts through the greasy messes on the stove top better than liquid hand soap.
As I have mentioned in the homemade daily shower spray post, tea tree oil is known for its antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-fungal properties. You can purchase tea tree oil in most health food stores or online (which is where I ordered mine over a year ago).
Let me know how this disinfectant works out for you!
Have a blessed day!
