I love Pumpkin Pie spice. It is my absolute favorite seasoning. Plus it just screams “FALL!” Don’t you agree? I have been dying to try making my own. Let’s be honest, that little tiny bottle you get at the store is waaay over priced. I finally ran out the other day. 🙂
Pumpkin pie spice recipes are all over the web and most of them just say equal parts cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and allspice. I noticed that those recipes left out my favorite ingredient in pumpkin pie spice: cloves!
Ground cloves add a warmth and depth to homemade pumpkin pie spice. I think it really makes the pumpkin pie spice sing and gives it character.
- 2.5 TBSP ground cinnamon
- 2.5 TBSP ground nutmeg
- 2.5 TBSP ground ginger
- 2.5 TBSP ground allspice
- 3 tsp ground cloves
- Combine all ingredients in a jar with a tight lid.
- Shake until well mixed.
- Store in a cool dry place.
Use as desired or as the recipe calls.
Do you make your own pumpkin pie spice? What do you put in it?
Have a blessed day!
