I love real butter but I do have a few problems with it. It can be expensive, first off. Another problem is that it is not very spreadable straight out of the refrigerator.
The solution to both of these problems is homemade whipped butter.
Homemade Whipped Butter stretches one stick of butter a little bit further and softens it too. My favorite thing about making homemade whipped butter is all the different seasonings you can mix in!
We love Whipped Italian Herb Butter melted on top of steamed veggies. Whipped Garlic Butter makes the. BEST. Garlic. Bread. EVER!
Basic Ingredients
- 1 stick of butter
- 3 TBSP water, milk, heavy cream
- optional seasonings see list below
Garlic Butter
- 1 TBSP Garlic powder
Italian Herb Butter
- 1 TBSP garlic powder plus 1/2 TBSP Italian seasoning
Cinnamon Butter
- 1 TBSP ground cinnamon
Honey Butter
- 1 TBSP honey
Pumpkin Pie Spice Butter
- 1 TBSP pumpkin pie spice
Directions:
- Allow butter to come to room temperature on counter.
- In a stand mixer, beat butter and water (or milk).
- Add in seasoning of choice.
- Store in a dish and use as needed.
If you use water you can store the butter on the counter. If you use milk or heavy cream you should store the butter in the fridge. Storing the butter in the fridge will harden it up a bit. I prefer to use water so I can leave it on the counter.
Whipped Cinnamon Butter, Whipped Pumpkin Pie Spice, and Whipped Honey Butter are all wonderful when melted on muffins, pancakes, or waffles!
Do you make homemade whipped butter? What’s your favorite flavor?
Have a blessed day!
