James and I have a thing for soft pretzels, especially soft pretzels with cheese dip. In fact, if a restaurant has soft pretzels with cheese dip as an appetizer we will order it. Sometimes we even order two. Sometimes we don’t bother with dinner and just have soft pretzels.
When I was making our menu plan, James came up with the awesome idea of trying traditional sausage dishes from around the world. Since it was October, we decided to start with Germany and celebrate Oktoberfest!
The problem with us celebrating Oktoberfest is that we do not drink alcohol, but that was not going to stop me from making beer cheese.
We were not disappointed with my quick and easy beer cheese dip alcohol free, of course.
Beer Cheese Dip is practically effortless but oh so tasty!
- 12 ounces non-alcoholic beer (I used Beck’s)
- 5 part-skim mozzarella cheese sticks
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 16 ounces of cream cheese
- Over medium heat, heat beer.
- Break cheese sticks into small chunks and add to the pot.
- Cut cream cheese into pieces and stir into beer.
- Stir in cheddar cheese.
- Continue stirring until everything is melted and gooey.
- Remove from heat and serve.
This beer cheese dip can be served warm or cold. We love it warm with piping hot pretzels for dipping! If you are making this for a party you will have plenty. If you are making this for your family, you will have more than enough. It can easily be halved for smaller meals.
For our Oktoberfest celebration we had pretzels, beer cheese, and bratwurst. Totally fun!
Normally, I would have grilled the bratwurst but we do not have a grill. Instead I baked them in the oven.
One day I’m going to try to make my own pretzels but for now I will buy them. We love SuperPretzels. They are quick and easy to make and absolutely delicious.
We had an awesome time celebrating Oktoberfest and really enjoyed the food.
Have a blessed day!
