Disclosure: I received a free Baby Orajel™ Naturals Nighttime Teething Gel product for the purpose of my review of Baby Orajel Naturals Nighttime Teething Gel. Opinions are 100% my own.
I love the mostly natural approach to living and that translates over to my parenting too. When Cakey was teething, I guess we got lucky. She only had a couple nights/days of fussiness and I never had to give her medication during the teething process. Doodles on the other hand, has been different.
When she started teething, she had a few more fussy days and nights than Cakey did but nothing too bad. Both girls would go back to sleep relatively quickly after a little comforting.
A couple of weeks ago, Doodles started cutting molars…
And boy was this a new adventure for us!
She was up for over an hour each night. At first I was not sure why she was waking up but a few days later she bite my finger and that’s when I felt it. A new molar erupting!
My poor baby.
I tried my normal, natural teething remedies but she was still waking up during the night. Then she got sick and was up even more. While she was recovering from her cold, I received a free sample of Baby Orajel Naturals Nighttime Teething Gel.
I decided to give it a try, once she was over her cold.
I have to admit I was surprised at how well it worked. Having never used a teething gel before I had nothing to base my experience or expectations on. I do tend to be skeptical about these things. 🙂
Before I tried it on her, I rubbed some on my gums just to verify what was to be expected and to show her it was okay.
I rubbed some on her gums before bed (which was in and of itself a challenge because babies love to bite whatever enters their mouths) and she slept through the night! Which was so awesome after those crazy last few weeks.
During the rest of that week I used the Baby Orajel Naturals Nighttime Teething Gel each time she woke up during the night, which was only twice in five nights. And following the last late night wake-up, she cut the molar that was giving her trouble! Or at least I assume it was the troublesome one because I didn’t put the Orajel on her for the next few nights and later that week I found another new molar!
Other than loving Baby Orajel Naturals Nighttime Teething Gel for letting Doodles and I get a full night’s sleep, here are a few other things I loved about it:
It’s a homeopathic formula, does not contain benzocaine, belladonna or parabens. And it’s dye free too! I loved that it had no real taste, it did not taste medicine-y or fake but plain and bland.
It does contain calcarea phosphorica which is known commonly as calcium phosphate and is good for the development of teeth and coffea cruda (unroasted coffee beans) used to help calm the nerves.
Baby Orajel Naturals Nighttime Teething Gel also contains chamomilla (think relaxing, just like chamomile tea) and passiflora incarnata which is commonly referred to as the purple passion flower and is also used for relaxing and encouraging sleep.
