During Tot school with the girls we focus on one letter each week. This week is the letter A. Here is our Tot School Letter A Books list.

I have been trying to read about 2 books a day or 10 books a week that fall in the theme for that week.  Of course, our main focus is letters but sometimes I’ll throw in a book or two about numbers, shapes, or colors.

I am officially teaching both Cakey and Doodles. Although I’m teaching at Cakey’s level,  I try to throw in a book or two for Doodles each week, but a good majority of the books are above both the girls.  I love to challenge them through reading this way.  Interestingly enough after just few weeks of doing this, both the girls are enjoying and asking for the more challenging books to be read during “non-school” time!

Below is the list of books we read for Tot School Letter A Books:

A is for Awesome by Dallas Clayton

A is for Awesome by Dallas Clayton simple, fun lyrical book. Pictures depict other things that begin with each letter. Great for Kindergarten – 2nd grade.

The Amulet and the Anthem by Catherine Hapka

Sofia the First The Amulet and the Anthem by Catherine Hapka – Sofia is chosen to sing the anthem but when she becomes to boastful her amulet curses her. Both the girls love Sofia the First so this book was a big hit with them! Great for Preschool – Kindergarten.

Dr. Seuss's ABC: An Amazing Alphabet Book by Dr. Seuss

I have read this classic Dr. Seuss book so many times that I do not even need to look at the words or pictures to recite it. The girls love it. Preschool and up.

Amelia Bedelia by Peggy Parish

Amelia Bedelia by Peggy Parish – Amelia Bedelia is a housekeeper who does exactly what the list Mrs. Roger’s left says. This book was one of the challenging books but both girls loved it!  Cakey especially enjoyed some of the silly scenes. Kindergarten-3rd grade.
