During Tot school with the girls we focus on one letter each week. This week is the letter T. Here is our Tot School Letter T Books list.

I have been trying to read about 2 books a day or 10 books a week that fall in the theme for that week. Of course, our main focus is letters but sometimes I’ll throw in a book or two about numbers, shapes, or colors.

I am teaching both Cakey and Doodles. Although I’m teaching at Cakey’s level, I try to throw in a book or two for Doodles each week, but a good majority of the books are above both the girls. I love to challenge them through reading this way. Interestingly enough after just few weeks of doing this, both the girls are enjoying and asking for the more challenging books to be read during “non-school” time!

Alphabet Trucks by Samantha R. Vamos – In simple rhyming text, this book follows hard working trucks from A to Z. Preschool – 2nd Grade

Can You Count Ten Toes?: Count to 10 in 10 Different Languages by Lezlie Evans – Count to 10 in Spanish, French, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Tagalog, Russian, Hindi, Hebrew, and even Zulu. Preschool – 3rd Grade

Oh, the Thinks You Can Think by Dr. Seuss – A classic Dr. Seuss book that encourages kids to think. Preschool -2nd Grade

Alphabet Trains by Samantha R. Vamos – A fun rhyming book with a train for every letter of the alphabet. Preschool – 2nd Grade

A Tree for Me by Nancy Van Laan – A little boy is looking for a tree for him. He explores 5 different trees and finds that they are home to other creatures. This book has a little bit of everything it’s a counting book, a book of concepts, and a point-and-say book. Kindergarten – 3rd Grade

Big Truck and Little Truck by Jan Carr – Big Truck teaches Little Truck how to do things on the farm. Then one day, Big Truck breaks down and taking care of the farm is left Little Truck. Is he up for the job? Preschool – Kindergarten

Train by Elisha Cooper – On an adventure from coast to coast travel on a commuter train, a passenger train, a freight train, an overnight train and finish on a high speed train. Preschool – 3rd Grade

I Can Name 50 Trees Today!: All About Trees by Bonnie Worth – Kids can learn about many different trees in North America and learn to identify them by the shape of their crowns, leaves, lobes, seeds, bark, and fruit. Preschool – 3rd Grade

Tear Water Tea from Owl at Home by Arnold Lobel – The girls loved Tear Water Tea. And all the other stories in Owl at Home because they requested I read them all! Preschool – 2nd Grade

All Aboard ABC by Doug Magee and Robert Newman – An alphabet book introducing the world of trains. Preschool – Kindergarten

This Tree Counts by Alison Formento – A fun counting book that shows just how many creatures call the tree home. Preschool – 3rd Grade
