I love yellow rice made with saffron yellow rice seasoning! This seasoning is a delicious, flavorful, homemade version of commercial seasoning mix to make yellow rice.
Did you know saffron is the most expensive spice in the world? The prices of it range from $500 to $5,000 per pound in the US. That is crazy! When I bought my tiny bottle at Target a couple of months ago it cost me over $16.00 for half a gram! That is approximately 0.02 ounces. Crazy. Just crazy. The reason saffron is so expensive is because it is hand harvested.
Anyway enough on the economy lesson on saffron.
