During Tot school with the girls we focus on one letter each week. This week is the letter B. Here is our Tot School Letter B Books list.

I have been trying to read about 2 books a day or 10 books a week that fall in the theme for that week.  Of course, our main focus is letters but sometimes I’ll throw in a book or two about numbers, shapes, or colors.

I am officially teaching both Cakey and Doodles. Although I’m teaching at Cakey’s level,  I try to throw in a book or two for Doodles each week, but a good majority of the books are above both the girls.  I love to challenge them through reading this way.  Interestingly enough after just few weeks of doing this, both the girls are enjoying and asking for the more challenging books to be read during “non-school” time!

Below is the list of books we read for Tot School Letter B books:

Little Bird’s ABC by Piet Grobler

Little Bird’s ABC by Piet Grobler – Be prepared to be surprised by the silly sounds these little bird make for each letter. Cute book with simple words or sounds for each letter. Preschool-3rd grade

BLUEBERRIES FOR SAL by Robert McCloskey – Sal and her mother are blueberry picking. Sal wanders to the other side of the blueberry patch and ends up finding a momma bear. Sal’s mother is being followed by a very hungry bear cub. What a cute story!  We really enjoyed reading this book and then making some fun blueberry treats! 3-7 year olds.

The Magic School Bus Inside A Beehive by Joanna Cole

The Magic School Bus Inside a Beehive by Joanna Cole -The Magic School Bus turns into a bee and Ms. Frizzle’s class learns firsthand how workers, drones, and the queen bees live together. This was one of our challenging books.  It is above both the girls but they seemed to like it and even asked questions! 4 – 8 year old

The Belly Book by Joe Harris

The Belly Book by Joe Harris – Bellies come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. In this book you will learn about all kinds of bellies and the best way to take care of your very own belly. This book is fun and has a good pace.  The girls, of course, like to end it by showing me their bellies! Preschool – 2nd grade
