Tot School Letter P Books 10 books to read for toddler totschool or preschool study of the letter P. Some books are on two-three year old level but most are on a higher level

During Tot school with the girls we focus on one letter each week. This week is the letter P. Here is our Tot School Letter P Books list.

I have been trying to read about 2 books a day or 10 books a week that fall in the theme for that week.  Of course, our main focus is letters but sometimes I’ll throw in a book or two about numbers, shapes, or colors.

I am teaching both Cakey and Doodles. Although I’m teaching at Cakey’s level,  I try to throw in a book or two for Doodles each week, but a good majority of the books are above both the girls.  I love to challenge them through reading this way.  Interestingly enough after just few weeks of doing this, both the girls are enjoying and asking for the more challenging books to be read during “non-school” time!

Below is a list of books we read for Tot School Letter P Books:

Oh, The Places You'll Go by Dr. Seuss

Oh, the Places You’ll Go by Dr. Seuss – a classic, fun book. The girls loved the colors and the typical Dr. Seuss crazy pictures. Preschool – 3rd grade

1-2-3 Peas by Keith Baker – Busy little peas engage in their favorite activities as they introduce the numbers from one to 100. Preschool – 3rd grade

Panda Bear, Panda Bear, What Do You See? by Bill Martin

Panda Bear, Panda Bear, What Do You See? by Bill Martin – Done in the same style as Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? this book features a collection of endangered animals. The girls loved this book. Preschool – 1st grade

Shiver Me Letters A Pirate ABC by June Sobel

Shiver Me Letters: A Pirate ABC by June Sobel – Pirates are searching for letters in this rollicking rhyming book. Very fun great to read out loud. Preschool – 2nd grade

Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear? by Bill Martin and Eric Carle

Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear? by Bill Martin and Eric Carle – This book is excellent for preschoolers. My girls LOVED making each animal noise! Preschool – Kindergarten

Dinner at Panda Palace by Stephanie Calmenson and Nadine Bernard Wescott

Dinner at Panda Palace by Stephanie Calmenson and Nadine Bernard Wescott – This is a fun counting book featuring animals showing up completely famished to Panda Palace for dinner. It was great letting the girls point and count each type of animal. Preschool – 2nd grade

LMNO Peas by Keith Baker – The Alphabet Peas work and play in, on, and around the alphabet. Preschool – 3rd gradeTwo Crazy Pigs by Karen Berman Nagel

Two Crazy Pigs by Karen Berman Nagel – This book belonged to my sister when she was in elementary school. I loved reading it to her then and loved reading it to my girls now. It’s about two pigs who cause mayhem and mischief on a farm. The farmer does not like this so the pigs leave their friends behind and search for a farm that will appreciate their uniqueness. Preschool – 3rd grade

The Spooky Tail of Prewitt Peacock by Bill Peet

The Spooky Tail of Prewitt Peacock by Bill Peet – Prewitt’s tail is not pretty like the other peacocks, in fact it’s scary. The other peacocks don’t like Prewitt until they discover the benefits of his tail. Preschool – 3rd grade

20 Hungry Piggies: A Number Book by trudy Harris

20 Hungry Piggies: A Number Book by Trudy Harris – The classic nursery rhyme continues as all 20 pigs try to make it to the picnic. The girls enjoyed try to spot the Big Bad Wolf and numbers hidden on each page. Kindergarten – 2nd grade
